Welcome to 2017 East Bay Youth Summer Ball now in our 9th year! This newly developed program is designed for U10, U12 & U14 players looking to develop their games recreationally or competitively, but not ready for a full commitment to offseason travel lacrosse. Summer Ball will focus first and foremost on teaching the fundamentals and basics of the sport so that over time, our players have the skills to master the game.
Summer Ball sessions will be taught and overseen by Encore coaches and directors. Player training sessions will consist of “chalk talks” where coaches will teach and players can ask questions about lacrosse. These sessions will take place before every practice so every player knows and understands what they will be learning on the field.
Dates: June 13th – July 18th, 2017 (no sessions during the July 4th week)
Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Ages: U10, U12, U14 (Current grades – 3rd to 8th)
Location: De La Salle High School (Concord, CA)
Joe began playing lacrosse as a freshman at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek- and through talent and dedication made the varsity team the very next year as a sophomore. Joe became the consummate student of the game, playing, watching, and studying, and by his senior year, was captain of his high school team, and already coaching a youth team for the Walnut Creek Warriors. Even as a high school student Joe exhibited the leadership abilities to both lead his peers, as well as become an instructor and mentor for his youth players. His U12 team went 14-1 that season, buying into the fundamentals and love of the game that Joe was able to instill. Joe is now a sophomore at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and plays midfield on the University’s lacrosse team.
